helping your kid feel seen, supported, and valued
-
The first session is with an adult caregiver only. We’ll go over information about how child therapy looks different, answer any questions you have, and review your child’s history, your concerns, and what you’d like them to get out of therapy.
-
During our first session, our only goal is to get them comfortable and start to get to know each other. Like you, they’ll have a chance to ask questions about therapy or about me, and if they’re comfortable we’ll start to explore what’s going on in their life. the first session we keep it light—the slow process gives us a chance to build a relationship thats the foundation of the work.

I am an advocate of youth collaboration, and believe goal setting should be done together regardless of age. they know best how they are suffering, and get a vote on what they’d like to see change. I will provide feedback on translating what change “looks like” into practice.

How much you are involved depends on the unique developmental needs of your child. Children and preteens can benefit from more direct and frequent parent engagement, while teens need more say and independence on how this looks. Regardless, each family is unique and we approach this question on an individual basis, centered around what’s needed.

My session fees are $200 for an intake session, and $175 for all sessions following. I also accept many insurances, so please ask if I am in network with yours. If not, this may not have to be a dealbreaker—I can also provide a superbill to get reimbursed by your insurance. Ultimately, I believe mental health should be accessible to all, so ask me about a reduced rate if you need it.
